Upcoming Works: Asbestos Roof and Wall Replacement in Coburg

Having worked on various Visy sites for the past 10 years, we have found ourselves often at their Coburg site.

Constructed in the 1950s, the entire plant has been kept watertight by an asbestos roof.
Over the past six years our roofing contractors have been removing certain areas of the asbestos roof and replacing with BlueScope Colorbond roofing materials.

ACR Roofing have just been awarded the removal and replacement of their biggest warehouse on the Coburg site.

As you can see in the below photos, the roof along with the walls is a huge area and together it equates to over 11,000m2 of removal.

We will be commencing the project early March with the aim to have it completed early July. Stay tuned for photos of the completed project.

Asbestos Removal in Progress

ACR roof plumbers have now reached the halfway mark of this huge asbestos roof and wall replacement, and the results are already looking great.

Having removed and replaced half the roof and walls, we left site for two weeks allowing our client, Visy, to relocate all of their stock back into the clean/already replaced area.

We achieved the asbestos removal for the first half of the project several days before the strict time frame we were provided with.

Associated cranes have erected a crane tower on site which has assisted us in our ongoing asbestos removal works; removing the old asbestos roof materials and loading the new roof sheeting, this exercise has helped our roof plumbers carrying the heavy loads and ensured we were able to complete the roof works ahead of schedule.

Last month we were back on site at Visy, Coburg, getting stuck into the next stage; stay tuned for a completed wrap.
