Sunshine was once the heart of the International manufacturing trade throughout the 70s, 80s, and early 90s. Sadly, like most Australian Manufacturing, the majority moved overseas and the industry and boom around Sunshine died, bar one.
The Sewing Machine Factory, which remains a hub of handy sewers who pump their singers until there’s no material left. Manufacturing clothing for the Defence, they are extremely busy, but like all in this current climate, Covid has also locked them down for a short period. This is where the owners took an opportunity to have their asbestos roof replacement completed.
A commercial warehouse with an old, deteriorating and brittle asbestos roof, they contacted the number 1 roofers in Melbourne and engaged ACR Roofing to complete the roof replacement. Our Melbourne roofers were provided with a small window to complete the works as the Defence need more uniforms.
Our team got stuck into it and we were glad to hand back their building with a new, nice and shiny roof within the timeframe. All materials were craned onto the roof with the assistance of our regular crane company, Associated Mobile Cranes.
After our roofers removed the asbestos roofing, we installed safety mesh, Bradfords roof insulation and then the roof material, BlueScope Plain Zincalume corrugated profile.
All box gutters and perimeter cappings replaced to complement such a wonderful roof.
The super six asbestos roof sheeting was taken away by Rhino Bins and disposed of at an EPA approved waste site… Never to be seen again, thank god.
Industrial estates throughout Melbourne remain littered with warehouses that contain the super six asbestos sheeting and pose health risks to all.
Completing asbestos roof replacements for over 49yrs, with the years of experience, surprisingly it is easily removed and disposed of.
Commercial roof replacements in Melbourne are what we do best, and the industrial states throughout Melbourne continue to see the ACR Roofing team making them look new again.
The sewing machine factory can continue to provide the Australian Defence force with their uniforms without having an old leaking asbestos roof give them grief!
