Recently we were approached by Ronald McDonald House Charities to see if we could replace their Polycarbonate sheeting over a courtyard area at their Monash house. The existing sheeting was very worn and almost opaque. They were after a replacement to let more natural light back into the area, and of course stop the leaks. ACR Roofing specialises in metal and asbestos Roof Replacement Projects, but occasionally we do work outside of our core business. Especially if it supports a fantastic cause like this one! For this cause we were happy to help.
Ronald McDonald House Charities has 18 houses across Australia. Their mission is to keep families together under one roof, and close to hospitals. Families often have to travel a long way from home to receive the medical care their child needs. So RMHC’s 18 Houses provide essential care and support for these families. At the Monash house, they have two units and thirteen family bedrooms available. Their facilities include shared living space, kitchen and laundry facilities, and a large shared courtyard and playground for the families to enjoy. It’s hard to enjoy a courtyard with a leaking roof though.
To fix this problem, ACR Roofing replaced the cracked and leaking polycarbonate sheeting over this courtyard and BBQ area. We used Polycarbonate Solasafe from Ampelite for the roof replacement. The finished result is a light and bright courtyard area, where families and volunteers can soak up the sun and relax together. With Solasafe cutting out 99.9% of harmful UV rays, it was a great choice for this Melbourne roofing project.
As you can see by the pictures, our experienced roof plumbers really enjoyed doing this special job!
We wish RMHC Monash and their families all the very best. May your futures be bright.
