This large-scale asbestos removal in Melbourne for Kings Storage in Thomastown is requiring all of ACR Roofing’s planning skills and expertise. The roof on this project is 30-metres high. This means that safety is our first priority—both the safety of our Melbourne roofers, and the general public below. As such, we are using man cages to safely remove the asbestos spoutings and to install new gutters.
In addition, safety netting has been attached under the metal trusses of the building as an additional height safety implementation. This is the first time that safety netting has been used on such a project, proving that ACR Roofing really are leaders in the industry. Supervisor Leighton Boltwin is doing a great job in ensuring that the asbestos removal project stays on track.
ACR Roofing would like to thank a number of companies and people who have been involved with the project so far, including:
- Stuart from Safelock for the first netting installation
- David and his team from Spire Access and Rigging
- Kenny from MAKE U SAFE for our hand rails
- Lock Up Scaffolds for the huge scaffold tower
- Associated Cranes for all their assistance on this project
