The ACR Roofing contractors arrived on site at City Edge Serviced Apartments, located in leafy East Melbourne, tasked with rejuvenating two buildings constructed in the 1960’s. The original metal roof installation was leaking in several areas, and shrinkage to the existing timber structure had resulted in water ponding on the roof – causing extensive corrosion. There were also a large number of air conditioners on the roof servicing the apartments below.
Having a great deal of experience with similar structures, our estimators quickly devised a plan to exaggerate the roof pitch, and eliminate the sagging that was causing damage. We had a plan, and we also had a deadline. The serviced apartments could only close for two weeks, so our plumbers braved the winter weather and got to work!
We installed a heavy gauge 0.48mm BlueScope Plain Zincalume roof, and flashed the numerous penetrations. We also oversaw the disconnection and re-commissioning of over 30 Split System air conditioners.
The end result: Two watertight buildings that are now compliant with Australian Standards and look fantastic. We completed this roof replacement in Melbourne in just two weeks!!
