When ACR Roofing was contacted by the owner of two shops side by side needing an asbestos roof replacement, our professional roofers in Melbourne saw no challenge. Located in a quiet and picturesque area of Bulleen, there was nothing we hadn’t seen before with this asbestos removal.
With asbestos roof replacements, we need to inform WorkSafe of the asbestos removal prior to our Melbourne roofers being allowed onsite. We also need to complete all necessary site inspections, safety checks and final check measures. Once we are satisfied by the results, that is when we can then organise equipment, materials, as well as engage an independent hygienist to provide asbestos clearances.
When completing any type of roof replacement for a building such as a shop, it is important that the business has minimal disruption during our exercise. This was made somewhat easier with the current Covid-19 restrictions both shops were closed which enables our roofing contractors to get in and get out without any disruptions – a rather smooth process for everyone involved.
All within a few days, the asbestos removal and roof replacement was completed. Our customer wanted us to install BlueScope Colorbond roofing materials including flashings, cappings and gutters, connection to new PVC downpipes. The BlueScope ColorBond colour chosen by the owners was Basalt, a powerful, modern grey with a neutral cast. Basalt deliberately lacks the green tones that would soften its impact when used un ultra-modern designs. Exuding the strength and solidity of the rock after which it is named, the use of Basalt lends buildings a feeling of being anchored to the earth.
The finished project resulted in not only the ACR Roofing team proud of yet another job well done, but a satisfied owner with happy tenants.
